Julie Meyer, Ariadne Capital

Uploaded by Entrepreneurs' Forum
Julie Meyer is one of the top 30 most powerful businesswomen in Europe. She founded the high profile network First Tuesday, which brought together entrepreneurs and investors.

First Tuesday was later sold to an Israeli firm for $50m. Almost immediately Julie started putting together Ariadne Capital to help and advise the market leading companies of tomorrow.

Since then she has been involved in Skype, before it was sold to ebay in a $4 billion deal, as well as international projects for a string of high profile clients including Sage, Carphone Warehouse, BT, and Zopa, set up by the founder of internet bank Egg, Richard Duvall. Since 2000, Ariadne has raised hundreds of millions for start-ups.

Once asked to define what made a great entrepreneur Julie replied, "You must have the discipline and drive of an althete, and the creativity and vision of an artist."
